Cleveland Home Selling – Pictures Are Worth 1000 Words

According to the National Association of Realtors®, close to 90% of all buyers are using the internet for their home search.  Therefore, on line marketing, specifically pictures, are critical to help a home sell.  If a buyer doesn’t like what they see on line, they will simply cross it off their list.

So why then do so many agents fail to take good pictures of their listings?  I am certainly not trying to be negative towards my fellow agents, but as a photo buff, I am one of those people who is very critical of pictures.  Here is what I’m talking about:

If you were looking to buy a home, would you be more compelled to see this:

Or this:

bad quality photos hurt home sellers

These are both very nice homes and in a similar price range, but the second home will surely get passed over.

Fair or not, your home will be judged by how it looks on line.   I can’t tell you how many times my buyer clients mention how turned off they are when they see bad quality photos on line.  Many assume the home must look awful inside when in reality it could really be nice.

What’s even more amazing than agents who use poor quality photos  is sellers who allow it to happen.  I’m convinced that many sellers don’t even look on line to see how their home appears on different websites.  If they did, they’d be horrified.

If you are thinking about selling your home here in Cleveland, check out an agent’s work prior to hiring them.  Ask to see samples of their listings to get an idea of how your home would be marketed.  Pictures are indeed worth a thousand words, and using great quality photos on line could mean the only word you want to hear: SOLD!
